One thing about maternity sessions, is there is no way to guarantee a colorful location, with flowers in bloom, as the depend solely on the time of year you're pregnant, obviously. This maternity session, for this special rainbow baby, could not have fallen during a more perfect time of year. Every beautiful spring flower at Memphis Botanic Garden was in bloom, as if celebrating this new life that Kim was growing. It was really quite terrific! All maternity photo sessions are special, but this maternity session was a little extra special! I can't even begin to put into words how honored I am that Kim and John chose me to capture these beautiful maternity photos, as they celebrated their second rainbow baby! Here is what Kim wrote, when she posted these photos to her facebook page. (Shared with her permission). "These are everything. Beyond being beautiful pictures, they tell a part of our family’s story. A story of love, a story of loss and a story of hope. Our journey of multiple miscarriages, prematurity, and postpartum depression has taught us many things, and has brought us to where we are today. Thankfully, through love, we’ve persevered, and continue conquering the challenges brought before us, not without an ample amount of grace for ourselves and each other along the way. We’re so thankful for our rainbow babies (babies born after miscarriage), Adeline, and soon to be Andrew, in just a couple short weeks, but also remember and honor the 3 babies we’ve lost. Although we may not understand them, we thank God everyday for the lessons we’ve needed to go through to grow and become stronger individually, and as a family, in the end to be better for each other, those around us, and for the God that made us. These pictures bring a smile to my heart thinking of what the future has to hold, the love that will continue to grow as we expand our family, and a journey that we will continue to rejoice in and learn from. Which I can't believe, because it seems like just yesterday that I was taking her newborn photos! Thank you for scrolling through! Feel free to leave a comment and let me know what you think! :)
