Andrea & Matthew's Bartlett, TN backyard wedding was so beautiful and intimate! Andrea is a planner, a list maker. She jumped on the wedding planning as soon as she and Matthew were engaged. We met for coffee and she booked me, well over a year in advance. She was all about checking things off of her check list! Andrea has such a kind and spunky personality, and our consultation felt like I was having coffee with an old friend. Matthew's grandparents live on a lake in Bartlett, TN. Andrea envisioned this beautiful backyard wedding, overlooking the lake. She and Matthew's grandmother thought about every little detail, and it turned out to be absolutely beautiful! Nearing up to the big day, the forecast wasn't looking too promising for a backyard wedding. I was worried it was going to rain all day, or at least a good bit of it. We majorly lucked out, and the rain held off until the last 20-30 minutes of the reception! My drive home was tornadic type weathers, and I had to pull over at one point, but I was so glad it held off for Andrea's dream wedding! Andrea's details were simply perfection! Her colors were purples and pinks. So soft and romantic. I was absolutely excited about her florals by ehblooms! If you're still shopping for your wedding florals, contact Elizabeth! Matthew's grandmother let Andrea and her girls have the entire house to get ready. Andrea hired Angel from Memphis Makeup Artists for hair and makeup, and all of the girls looked amazing! I always love taking photos of the bride's mother helping her get into her wedding dress, but Andrea and her mom were the icing on the cake with their sweet, loving relationship. It brought tears to my eyes watching the two of them interact with each other and seeing how genuinely happy Andrea's mom was for her daughter! It was also equally fun seeing Andrea and her mom take turns zipping each other up! Andrea and Matthew chose to do a first look. I still talk to so many people who are worried that a first look might take away from not seeing each other. I think it is quite the opposite, especially when you are shy and don't enjoy being the center of attention, like Matthew. First looks are much more intimate. It's just the two of you, and well, of course me and my second shooter. Look at Matthew's face when he sees his bride for the first time! Nothing beats that! It's always so fun for me to get a tiny little peek into the dynamic of the couples' relationship. Andrea and Matthew were constantly giggling and laughing! I always wrap pictures up at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the ceremony, so that the bride can hide away. I took this opportunity to snap some stunning bridal portraits of Andrea after her mother and Matthew's grandmother loved on her a bit. The wedding ceremony was so joyful, and that shows in Andrea's mom's and Matthew's grandmother's faces as the walked back up the aisle once the ceremony was over! At our consultation, Andrea anticipated a low-key wedding reception. She said that she and her friends weren't big on dancing. Well, I guess things change when it's literally the happiest day of your life, because I don't think Andrea and her girls left the dance floor! Andrea and Matthew, it was such an honor being your wedding photographer! I wish you two a lifetime of love, joy, and happiness! Memphis Wedding Vendors:
