If you've followed me for any length of time, you already know that newborn photo sessions are my favorite sessions. I love the magic that a new baby brings! It is always such an honor when I get hired to do newborn photos, because I am being invited into my clients' homes to document one of the most important chapters in my their lives. It is always such a sweet time full of love and joy and magic, and Baby I's session was no exception! Aren't newborn baby yawns the sweetest?! I have been blessed with some wonderful clients, and Valerie and Juan were no different. They were both so gracious and welcomed me into their home with open arms. I do not have my own studio space, so I do each newborn session in my clients' homes. I bring my "travelling studio" with me, so that I can get those posed newborn photos, but I also take advantage of being in my clients' home! One thing I love about that, is that means your pictures will be a bit more personal to you! Everyone cuddled up on Mom and Dad's bed?! I'm sure many of you can relate, and sometimes those more relaxed family photos cuddled up on the bed end up being some of my favorites! After watching my oldest son become a big brother, I have a major soft spot for the sibling portion of a newborn session. There is something so magical about watching a child become a big sister (or brother!), and I love that I get to document this big milestone for so many families! I will typically shoot as many sibling pictures as big brother or sister will allow. I could tell that Valerie was most excited about getting pictures of the two girls together, and Miss K was soooo proud of her baby sister, so thankfully I was able to get a good amount of sister photos! I love these of Miss K just quietly checking out her new baby sister. She was just taking it all in. This is where the magic happens, y'all! I love the little newborn details, down to the flaky skin! So so sweet! She was so content just to quietly lay next to her new baby sister! This little sign was incorporated into Miss K's newborn session, so it was only fitting to use it in Baby I's newborn session also. I'm telling you, these two girls are the sweetest! Can you tell how proud Miss K was of her baby sister?! I'm telling you guys! She probably would have allowed me to keep on going! :) So often, I get the pleasure of meeting Grandma. She's usually there helping her daughter ease into this new phase of life by helping with the other children, making sure her own daughter eats lunch while she's so busy feeding her new baby and probably forgetting to feed herself, filling the freezer with freezer meals, folding laundry, etc. I was so excited that Baby I's grandma so willingly sat in front of my camera and loved on her beautiful granddaughters for me. :) Look at these three generations of beautiful girls! Guys, I cannot express how much I love that this is my job!!! Valerie didn't have many specific requests for me, but one of them was to include this locket that held a photo of Baby I's late grandfather. He passed away before getting to meet either of his beautiful granddaughters, so this locket was also included in Miss K's newborn session also. How precious was it that Baby I gave me a big ol' grin when I laid the locket down next to her?! Thank you for taking the time to scroll through Baby I's newborn pictures! If you are expecting, I'd love to chat with you about scheduling your own newborn session! It's best to get your due date on my calendar before your little one's arrival! If you are pregnant, send me an email and say "hello"! :)
