I've been sitting on this blog post for a few days now, and figured being Earth Day, today would be the perfect day to finally share!
My husband. My best friend. The one I am lucky enough to spend the rest of my life with. These pictures are for him. <3
William and I work in the yard quite a bit together. After one or both of us has spent most of the day in the yard, we always go on a "walk about" together. Walking hand in hand, up and down our little strip of sidewalk. Walking slowly, talking or just enjoying the silence, but always admiring our little piece of Mother Earth. It may sound silly, but it is just our thing. It's just us. <3
The other night, we were on our walk about, when we were stopped dead in our tracks by what we saw. Our Red Maple, that we planted together, soaking up every last little drop of sunlight before it retired for the night. I stood there, soaking it in while William yelled, "Go get your camera!" I told him that I wouldn't have time, because once the sun hits that point, you literally have minutes before it's gone completely. He yelled, "Well, then hurry!" So I ran! The whole time smiling to myself, thinking, not only does William value my talent, but he insisted that I capture this moment that felt so pure and perfect between the two of us.
So without further ado, I give you-
