That day, when the boy who made me a big sister called, and asked if I'd help him plan his proposal.
Of course, I said "yes!" ...through my tears, that is!
A little about Drew... He was (and still is) the "class clown" of our family. Always keeping everyone laughing. He is just so goofy to the core. To say our family would be boring without him, is a huge understatement.
Not only is Drew funny, but he's loving. Oh so very loving. He has a heart of gold. Anyone who knows him, will agree. He is so affectionate, and kind. And always thinking of others. Always giving to others. He is something special.
A favorite game of Drew's when he was little: he would wrap himself up in a blanket, covering his head. Then he would come lay at my feet (if I was on the couch, etc) or lay just outside my bedroom door (if I was in my room.) And then he would wait. He would wait for me to open my gift. My gift that he had so thoughtfully wrapped up in a blanket. He did this as a game all the time. Wrapping himself up as a gift for me. So when this little boy [read: full grown man] called me, asking for my help to perfectly plan giving himself to the woman he loves. I was so honored. Beyond honored. There really is not a word for this.
Drew is going to make this girl the happiest girl in the world. She is so very lucky to have him, and she knows it. But he is also lucky to have her. Taylor is something special, herself. She is just as thoughtful and loving. A great compliment to Drew. Watching them together, you know they just...fit. They are best friends. They are lovers. They are soul mates. I am so thrilled for Drew to have this sort of love. It makes my heart sing with happiness to see how happy these two are together.
I'll end my novel here, and let you enjoy their Shelby Farms engagement session.
